Ocean Park Blvd.


The Ocean Park Blvd Improvement Plan was first conceived in the 1990s. It is hoped to turn Ocean Park Blvd between Lincoln and the beach into a neighborhood street, while preserving the current level of traffic flow. Issues include pedestrian and bicycle safety, landscaping, noise, traffic congestion, speed limits, and the murals.

The first community meeting on 3/3/2008 was a public presentation by the City consultants and staff. Over 60 residents attended.

The 2nd public meeting took place at John Muir Elementary School on 4/23/08 . Three proposals were presented and public feedback provided from about 30 residents

The third public meeting took place at Joslyn Park on 12/14/2008 .
Alternative A – sidewalk widening, landscaped medians, a Class II bike lane.
Alternative B – widening medians.
