Pop-Up Sears House – Structure Identified in Historic Resources Inventory
The following members of the public addressed the Commission: Scott Sullivan (owner representative). Mr. Sullivan stated that the materials from the house will be recycled and answered questions from the Commission.
Commissioner Genser noted that the garage was rebuilt but the demolition permit application is for the house. Commissioner Lehrer stated that the garage is striking because it includes the narrow clapboard siding which is the same as the siding installed on the house. She stated that there is valuable salvage material in the garage. Chair Berley asked Mr. Sullivan if the recycling process will be documented. Mr. Sullivan responded that he will follow directions from the Commission. Chair Berley recommended that the process be documented since it is important for the community to know how to take this type of resource and repurpose it. Commissioner Genser asked Mr. Sullivan if there are any interior fixtures that could be recycled. Mr. Sullivan stated that there is nothing inside the house. Commissioner Genser asked Mr. Sullivan if the property was purchased from a previous owner. Mr. Sullivan responded in the positive.
